On January 14, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 34-year-old Darrell Macleod of Grove Crescent for impaired driving.

Impaired

On Jan. 14, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 34-year-old Darrell Macleod of Grove Crescent for impaired driving. 

It is alleged that at 12:10 a.m. the accused was operating his motor vehicle on McNabb Street.  The accused attempted to turn a corner at Algoma Avenue and slid into a snowbank becoming stuck.  When officers arrived; it was found that the accused’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The accused was charged with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that is over the legal limit.  He will appear in court on Feb. 27, 2017.

Impaired

On Jan. 14, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 31-year-old Ryan Longo of Durban Road for an impaired driving related offence.

It is alleged that just after 11 p.m. the accused was operating his motor vehicle on Great Northern Road in Sault Ste. Marie. A witness observed the vehicle swerving all over the road and contacted police. Police were able to catch up to the driver as he was pulling into the driveway of his residence. Officers provided the accused with a demand to provide a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device and the accused complied.

The device registered a fail and the accused was taken into custody and charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that is over the legal limit. He will appear in court on Feb. 27, 2017.

Domestic

On Jan. 15, 2017 officer with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 25-year-old female for Domestic Violence related offences.

It is alleged that on Jan. 15, 2017 the accused was sending messages to her ex-boyfriend via the internet while she was bound by a probation order that states that she is not to have any communication with him. It is further alleged that the accused attended the residence of the victim and broke into a neighbouring apartment. While inside that apartment, the accused had access to the victim’s apartment and she is alleged to have broken into that unit as well.

The accused began yelling at the victim and the victim left the apartment and called police. Officers attended and located the accused inside. She was taken into custody and charged with 2 counts of break and enter, 3 counts of breach of probation and was held for bail court.
