If somebody gives you money that says it's not money, it's probably not money

A downtown business found this out the hard way recently

On Dec. 4, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a complaint of three counterfeit US $100 bills being used at a business in the downtown area.

When officers spoke to the complainant it was found that the bills were of poor quality and read: “This note is not legal tender intended for picture and motion picture use” on the front of them.

We encourage business to be cautious and ensure that employees properly inspect any currency that they may come into contact with.
