The death of a woman found Monday morning on West Street is being treated as a homicide, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service reported in a news release issued today.
Although the victim's family has been notified, information about the victim will not be released to the public at this time, police said.

On June 13, 2021 around 8:30 p.m. officers responded to a call of a deceased woman in the area of West Street and Portage Lane.
As a result of the ongoing investigation officers are investigating this case as a homicide. Officers remain on scene as the investigation is ongoing.
The victim’s family has been notified, but at this time information about the victim is not being released.
Further information will be released as it becomes available.
