ASSAULT CHARGE
At 10:00 last night on Huron Street police arrested Troy Aikens, age 33, of 76 James Street and charged him with two counts of assault and one count of unlawfully entering a dwelling. It is alleged that he unlawfully entered a residence and assaulted the two occupants. He will appear in court on May 20.
POLICE ASSAULTED
At 5:30 this morning police were called to a residence on Pittsburgh Avenue regarding a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers were met by Karen Monchka, age 44, of 147 Pittsburgh Ave.
The accused, who had been drinking, proceeded to assault one of the officers by spitting on him. Once arrested and placed in the cruiser, the accused threatened to kill the police officer. She has been charged with assaulting police, breach of undertaking, and threatening. She will appear in bail court this afternoon.
