City police has ruled out foul play after investigating a fire at Shady Rest Motel on Trunk Road Wednesday morning.
Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services says the fire, which began shortly after 7 a.m., left behind significant damage to a single unit.
No one was in the unit when fire personnel arrived on scene.
"We have concluded our investigation and at this time no criminality can be associated to the fire," said city police spokesperson Lincoln Louttit.
Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services spokesperson Aaron Gravelle tells SooToday the cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
