MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION - On May 16, 2017, shortly after 5 p.m., members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team, East Algoma Crime Unit, Provincial Liaison Team (PLT), East Algoma OPP and Mississauga First Nation Police Service executed a search warrant a residence on West Street on the Territory of Mississauga First Nation.

Police seized over 30 grams of cocaine, over 30 grams of cannabis marijuana, over 20 grams of cannabis marijuana hash oil, a small amount of Percocets, over $2,500 in Canadian currency, and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, Raymond Berry, 67 years of age from Blind River, Ont., was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) if the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking - Under 3 grams, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking - Under 3 grams, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - Other drugs, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a schedule II substance - Cannabis (resin) over 1 gram, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA; and
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on May 17, 2017.

Mary Chiblow, 51 years of age, from Mississauga First Nation, Ont., was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) if the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking - Under 3 grams, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking - Under 3 grams, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - Other drugs, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA;
  • Possession of a schedule II substance - Cannabis (resin) Over 1 gram, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA; and
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Aug. 17, 2017.
