Domestic incident call leads to assault charges

It is alleged the accused also threatened to kill her cats

On Jan. 17, 2018, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 22-year-old male as a result of a domestic violence incident.

It is alleged that the accused engaged in an argument with his girlfriend over the telephone. During the conversation, the accused threatened to assault the victim and also threatened to kill her cats. The victim contacted police and also disclosed that in the summer of 2017, the accused assaulted her by kicking her in the stomach.

Officers located the accused and he was taken into custody. He has been charged with one count of uttering threats, one count of uttering threats to injure or kill an animal, one count of assault; and one count of breach of probation. He was held for bail court.
