SAULT STE MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On Feb. 11, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19-year-old Joshua Gareau of Second Line West for assaulting an officer.
Just before 4 a.m. on Feb. 11 officers responded to a call regarding a male who was to be removed from a residence. Officers spoke with the accused and attempted to get him to leave.
The accused [is alleged to have] refused to leave and began fighting with the officers. The accused [is alleged to have] kicked one of the officers in the head and kicked another officer in the chest during the altercation.
Officers were able to gain control of the accused and he was taken into custody. Mr. Gareau has been charged with one count of assaulting a police officer and he will appear in court on Mar. 20, 2017.
