Charges ensue following traffic stop

On June 11th, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 52-year-old John Dyer of Borron Avenue for possession of a controlled substance.

Just after 10:00 p.m. on June 11th, 2017 an officer observed the accused driving on Huron Street.  The officer was aware that the accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for identification and as such conducted a traffic stop.

The accused was placed under arrest and when he was searched officers located .81mg of a substance believed to be methamphetamine in his possession. 

The accused has been charged with one count of failure to appear for identification and one count of possession of a controlled substance.  He will appear in count on July 10th, 2017.
