The cause of a fire that occurred at approximately 8 a.m. today at an apartment building on Allard Street is under investigation, states a release issued by Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services.
"Fire crews were directed to the upper level of the dwelling where flames were visible upon entry. Fire crews were able to contain the fire."
Although one individual was transported by ambulance to hospital for precautionary reasons, no injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
“An unfortunate fire incident occurred this morning on Allard Street. Thankfully everyone is safe,” Fire Chief Peter Johnson states in the release. “An exceptional effort from our service and on-duty crews. We appreciate the support from Sault Ste. Marie Paramedics and Sault Ste. Marie Police Services with this unfortunate incident.”
