Cashing someone else's cheque leads to fraud charge

Police arrested 28-year-old Michael McDonald yesterday after it is alleged that he cashed a cheque that did not belong to him on Nov. 4.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the valued of the cheque was $2,000.

McDonald stands charged with fraud under $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 22.
