Two charged in relation to break and enter investigation

Officers located them inside a Queen Street business and they were taken into custody

On Jan. 19, 2018, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 37-year-old Jason Brown of North Street and 33-year-old Thomas Kidder of no fixed address for break and enter.

It is alleged that just after 3 a.m., both males broke a window and entered a business in the 100 block of Queen Street while their faces were covered. The males had caused damage to property inside the business and attempted to take an amount of money.

Officers located the males inside of the business and they were taken into custody.

It is further alleged that on Jan. 15, 2018, the accused Jason Brown, broke into a business in the 0-100 block of Huron Street. The accused is alleged to have stolen just under $1,000 worth of items from the business and caused $3,000 in damage to the business in the process.

On Jan. 17, 2018 at 1:50 a.m., Mr. Brown entered a business in the 300 block of Wellington Street West where he caused damage to the inside of the business and took an amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

Mr. Kidder has been charged with one count of break and enter, one count of possession of break in instruments, one count of wearing a disguise with intent, and one count of breach of probation.

Mr. Brown has been charged with three counts of break and enter, three counts of wearing a disguise with intent, three counts of possession of break in instruments, and three counts of breach of probation. They were both held for bail court.
