Two charged in break and enter investigation

Pair accused of stealing from and causing damage to downtown businesses

On June 25, 2019 officers with the Break and Enter Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police service arrested 28-year-old Brooklyn Armstrong of Albert Street West and on May 28, 2019 officers with the Community Oriented Response Team arrested 36-year-old Shawn Reedy of Andrew Street for break and enter. 

It is alleged on May 24, 2019 the two accused entered two businesses in the downtown area and stole approximately $1,100 in items, identification, cheques and caused approximately $2,200 in damage. 

Mr. Reedy was located on May 28, 2019 and taken into custody. A search of the accused found him to be in possession of varying amounts of illicit narcotics.

He is charged with two counts of break and enter, three counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of possession of identity documents, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, four counts of breach of probation and three counts of fail to appear. He was held for bail court. 

Ms. Armstrong was located on June 25, 2019 and taken into custody. A search of the accused found her to be in possession of an amount of illicit narcotic.

She is charged with two counts of break and enter, three counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of possession of identity documents and one count of possession of a controlled substance. She is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 12, 2019.
