Arrest made after assault victim threatened with knife: police

One person was arrested following an assault incident that occurred on Queen Street West on Saturday evening.

Police say the accused, 24-year-old Devon Reed, threatened the victim with a knife during a verbal argument. No injuries were reported.

On March 4, 2023, officers in Patrol Services charged 24-year-old Devon Reed with assault with a weapon.

Around 6 p.m., the victim was walking in the 400 block of Queen Street West. The accused was in the area and a verbal argument ensued. During the argument, [it is alleged that] the accused pulled out a knife and threatened the victim. The victim was able to get into their residence and did not sustain physical injuries. The victim and accused are known to each other.

Officers responded and located the accused in the area. The accused was arrested and charged with:
    •    Assault with a weapon
    •    Uttering threats
    •    Breach of recognizance – failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour

The accused was held in custody pending a WASH court appearance.
