Another arrest made in connection to Gore Street assault investigation

He was wanted on outstanding warrants

On July 2, 2019 officers with the Break and Enter, Emergency Services and Patrol Services Units of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 25-year-old Joshua Roess of Goulais River on outstanding warrants. 

The accused was wanted for fail to appear and breach of probation with relation to two separate incidents. He was held for bail court. 

Mr. Roess was also wanted in connection to an assault that took place on May 29, 2019 at a residence on Gore Street. The others arrested in connection with the incident are 40-year-old Berni Nadon of Morin Street, 29-year-old Brodie Barnes of no fixed address, 43-year-old James Meilleur of Gore Street and 33-year-old Nadine Nichols of Hillside Drive. 

They are all charged with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Forcible confinement
  • Uttering threats
  • Armed robbery
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Using an imitation firearm during an offence
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm
