44-year-old arrested for assault in a school

Sault Ste. Marie Police have arrested a 44-year-old school employee for assaulting a student.

The name of the accused is being withheld because it may identify the victim.

A police press release said the incident occurred on May 19, when the accused was working at the school.

A complaint was filed after the incident, and the arrest took place on June 28.

On June 28, 2022, officers with Investigation Services charged a 44-year-old with assault.

On May 19, 2022, while working in a local school the accused assaulted a student, causing minor physical injuries.

A complaint was filed, and the subsequent investigation led to reasonable grounds for a charge. On June 28, 2022, the accused was arrested and charged with assault. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on September 12, 2022.
