On Nov. 12, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a call for service in the 100 block of Chartwell Drive.
Officers with the Investigation Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service were contacted to continue the investigation and as a result officers arrested 22-year-old Mathew L’Heureux of Chartwell Drive for Second Degree Murder.
It has been determined that the victim and the accused were both known to each other and the incident was not a random act.
The accused appeared in Bail Court today and has been remanded into custody.
Officers with the Investigation Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are continuing the investigation however no further information can be released at this time. At the request of the victim’s family, the name of the deceased will not be released.
