21-year-old woman faces impaired charges

On Sept. 30, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21-year-old Eva-Marie Recollet of Second Line West for impaired driving.

It is alleged that at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 30 the accused was operating a motor vehicle on Queen Street West when it struck a utility pole near John Street. The accused then left the area and was located by police on a street close by.

Officers developed grounds to believe that the accused was intoxicated and she was placed in custody. She has been charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit and one count of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

She will appear in court on Nov. 20, 2017.
