New CEO takes helm of THRIVE Child Development Centre

THRIVE’s Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Lisa Henderson as the new Chief Executive Officer of THRIVE Child Development Centre/Centre de développement de l’enfant effective May 4, 2020. 

Lisa brings with her over 18 years of extensive experience working with children, families and community partners across northern Ontario. Lisa’s experiences as Regional Director for Child and Community Resources and currently as Program Manager – Social Services for the City of Greater Sudbury give her a diverse background in both the not-for-profit and municipal sectors.

Her strengths include designing and implementing service delivery models as well as building a culture of learning and collaboration. Lisa has a passion for strategic planning and developing strong partnerships to provide the best quality services to children and families. 

“We are incredibly pleased to have Lisa join THRIVE,” said Sherri Smith, Board President. “Lisa brings along an extensive experience in the sector, a Northern Ontario perspective, and an innovative approach to program delivery and leadership. The Board is committed to working closely with Lisa as she leads THRIVE forward in the delivery of services for our children, youth and families.”

Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Leadership from Guelph University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Laurentian University. She is married and has a 10 year old son. Lisa and her family are excited to be relocating from Sudbury to Sault Ste. Marie.
