Harvest of Artists draws crowd on St. Joseph Island (19 photos)

Two dozen artists brought work to exhibit and sell, making it the biggest festival to date

The weather could not have been more perfect for artisans and visitors alike on Saturday for the third annual Festival of the Artists.

“I’m so pleased with the variety and talent that applied and attended the Harvest of Artists this year,” said Sherie Gladu, St. Joseph Township community projects coordinator. “This is our third year and the show continues to grow.”

Even though the calendar shows that fall is just around the corner, and some leaves have begun to change colour, the summer-like weather for the one-day event may have attributed to the steady flow of visitors stopping by the St. Joseph Township Centennial Grounds to check out what was new with the many artisans from across the region.

A total of 24 individual artists showed this year, making it the biggest festival to date.

“Hundreds of happy shoppers made the artists very happy as well,” Gladu said. "[Centennial Grounds] a great space and facility to welcome locals and visitors to enjoy the talent that surrounds us.”

One or more artisans will be showcasing at events happening soon on the island.

Visit the annual Harvest Festival at Jocelyn Centennial Grounds on Sept. 3. Also, book time on your calendar for the 20th anniversary Sylvan Circle taking place on Sept. 17 and the Country Roads Open House on Oct. 1 and 2.
