AlgomaTrad is hosting its 18th annual 'staff concert', which features nationally and internationally-recognized performers from across the country.

The show is set to feature Sophie and Fiachra, an award-winning duo playing traditional music from Ireland and Québec, Kyle Burghout, who has established himself as one of Canada’s foremost young fiddlers, and Champion Ontario fiddlers, multi-instrumentalists, and stepdancers Kerry Fitzgerald and Alanna Jenish.

Other artists included in the line-up are multi-instrumentalist and arranger James Stephens, a core founding staff member of the AlgomaTrad organization, Toronto multi-instrumentalist Lea Kirstein, bassist/guitarist Joseph Phillips, multi-instrumentalist Ian Bell, one of Canada's best young whistle players Eli Howard, and Zachary Schryer-Lefebvre, Benoit Schryer-Lefebvre, and Aine Schryer-O’Gorman, from the local award-winning family music group The O’Schraves.

The event is scheduled for Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Centennial Grounds in Richards Landing. Admission is $25, children 12 and under are free. Tickets available at the door or on AlgomaTrad's website.

The concert is part of AlgomaTrad's family camp, described in a press release as a week-long camp featuring concerts and heritage arts work shops on St. Joseph Island.

AlgomaTrad will lead workshops in music, immersive heritage crafts and arts workshops, printmaking, storytelling, and theatre. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines, the camp will only be open to registered campers, staff, and volunteers.
