Sudbury husband and wife perish in West Nipissing plane crash

NORTH BAY — A husband and wife from Sudbury died in Sunday’s afternoon plane crash which occurred around 12:45 in the Kipling area of West Nipissing.   

The West Nipissing Police Service stated they will not be releasing their names at this time.  

Members of the West Nipissing Police Service, the West Nipissing Fire Service and the Ontario Provincial Police and E.M.S. responded to the downed aircraft.

First responders made their way to the crash site and found the plane to be burning. Fire services were able to contain the fire and eliminate any risk to the public.

The West Nipissing Police Service and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are actively investigating the crash. 

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
