Getting older doesn’t have to mean being less active. The Stay on Your Feet strategy, funded by the NE LHIN (North East Local Health Integration Network) and in partnership with the Northeastern public health units, is a regional strategy aimed at improving the quality of life for older adults across Northeastern Ontario. SOYF partners are launching a new communications campaign which promotes three positive and action-oriented messages: Let’s Be Active! Let’s Be Social! Let’s Be Strong!

Stay on Your Feet brings a variety of community partners together to implement a strategy focused on supporting older adults and promoting healthy aging, including falls prevention.

A main feature of the SOYF campaign is a brand new bilingual SOYF website and Facebook page. These sources provide quality information for older adults, caregivers and health care professionals across Northeastern Ontario. The site features a variety of activities, tools and resources to help adults stay healthy, active and independent as they age.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of this new website and Facebook page will enable users to find options for virtual programming and tips that can help keep older adults connected to family and friends and engaged in their communities.

Older adults, caregivers and organizations are encouraged to join the SOYF movement and learn about ways to remain healthy and live life to the fullest.
