Oct. 24 is municipal election day, and Sault Transit will provide free bus service to those who present their voter notification card. The service is also available on advance vote days: Oct. 8, 12 and 15.

Eligible voters in the Sault Ste. Marie area will see voter notification cards in the mail this week, says a news release issued by the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

Anyone who does not receive a voter notification card or notices incorrect information on the card can add their name or update information online

“Electors are asked to bring their voter notification card when they vote, along with a piece of identification that shows their name and qualifying address,” the release says. “The voter notification card is not an acceptable piece of identification and is not mandatory to vote.”
