If you're a real car lover with some disposable income, you can treat yourself to a 2016 Ford Cobra Jet Mustang through Highland Ford.

Effective March 11, Highland Ford Sales Ltd. of Sault Ste. Marie has been designated as the Ford Performance Parts Dealer and supplier to Northern Ontario and Northern Michigan.

The designation came after a recent visit from Dianne Craig, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company of Canada.

This means Highland Ford can provide customers with the necessary parts for racing, hot rod, street, strip or restoration needs.

The designation means Highland Ford has the exclusive ability in our area to carry and sell special-edition cars like the 2016 Ford Cobra Jet Mustang.

Thousands of items are available, including complete exhaust systems, superchargers and high-horsepower crate engines.

In a news release issued Friday, Darren Smyl, Highland Ford owner, stated “This is a tremendous opportunity for Highland Ford and puts us in an elite group of high-performance parts suppliers.”

Smyl stated to show they are serious about car culture, Highland Ford has purchased a 1956 Ford F100 Big Back Window to restore with Ford Performance Parts over the next few months, and will be sharing updates on their progress on Highland Ford's Facebook page.
