Cory D Murchison is one of two Sault Ste. Marie-based musicians who will be performing live during CoronaFest, a live music event that is being streamed live on Facebook Saturday beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The former Skeyes of Seven vocalist says that his performance will consist of his own songs, which he describes as 'heavy rock.'

“I’m doing all originals. I’m doing them with demos I created myself, so it’s kind of like having a backing band with me, but just playing along and singing with those tracks,” said Murchison. “It should be pretty cool.”

CoronaFest organizer Brian Cattapan, a Sudbury-based musician who will also perform during the event, says the online concert came together purely through word of mouth.

“It just seemed like something to do,” said Cattapan. “No musicians are getting gigs right now because everything’s closed, so I figured it was a chance for some people to play.”
