College representatives return to LSSU for annual college fair
SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - Representatives from more than 20 colleges and universities, as well as the Armed Forces, will gather at Lake Superior State University on Sept. 21 for the annual Eastern Upper Peninsula College Fair.
High school students and parents interested in learning more about post-secondary educational opportunities are invited to attend the fair, which will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Norris Center's Bud Cooper Gymnasium at Lake Superior State University.
Admission for the event is free.
"The College Fair is an excellent catch-all opportunity for not only the students, but for the parents as well," says LSSU Assistant Director of Admissions Al Case.
Representatives will be on hand to answer any questions concerning several areas of college life, including: academic programs, admissions criteria and financial aid, in addition to any other questions students or parents may have.
College life is constantly evolving with new opportunities, requirements, deadlines, programs, and costs each year.
The amount of information students and parents should know may seem overwhelming, Case said, but this college fair can help.
He also said LSSU will have forms with frequently asked questions available for students and parents looking at post-secondary options.
The annual event is in accordance with Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) guidelines.
The list of organizations being represented at the fair includes: Albion College, Algoma University, Alma College, Aquinas College, Bay Mills Community College, Central Michigan University, Davenport University, Ferris State University, Finlandia University, Grand Valley State University, Great Lakes Christian College, Lawrence Technological University, Michigan State University, Michigan Technological University, Northern Michigan University, Northwood University, Oakland University, Olivet College, Robert Morris College, United States Naval Academy, University of Michigan, Western Michigan University, as well as LSSU.
