Pee Wee Black Sox go 1-2 in Escanaba

The Pee Wee Sox fought hard as they posted one win and two losses in Escanaba on the weekend.

Game one saw the locals lose a pitchers dual 2-0 with Noah Pearce, Todd Webb and Bradon Whalen combining for six innings of work with three strikeouts each. Sox batters scattered six hits over six innings. Dylan Sewell led the way with two singles while Tyler Sayers, Cole Wright, Pearce, and Geryd Lesage contribute a single apiece.

Game two had the locals matched up against tournament favourite Iron Mountain with the Black Sox coming up short in the end with a 4-2 loss. On the mound Wright, Lesage and Pearce combined for five strikeouts over six innings of play. Offensively Austin Hurley and Sewell led the way with two hits apiece and an RBI each. Lesage added a single in the losing cause.

Game three had the Sox battling with a team from Schaffer, Michigan, picking up a 6-3 win. On the mound, Charlie Dicorp, Whalen, and Pearce combined to hold the opposition in check. Offensively Cole Wright led the way with three hits and an RBI. Sewell had a two-run single, while singles went to Sayers, Dicorpo and Webb to round out the offensive outburst.

The Pee Wee Sox continue play this week in the Pee Wee house league as they await their next tournament in Petoskey, Michigan.
