Knights take down Eagles for NOSSA crown

The St. Mary's Knights took down local rival Sir James Dunn Eagles to earn a spot in the provincial championships.

On Wednesday night at the Essar Centre, Jake Yukich scored twice to pace the Knights to a 3-2 win over the Eagles in the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (NOSSA) AA hockey championship game.

Bo Boissoneau also scored for the winners while Jake Vachon and Matt Howard replied for the Eagles. Michael Doan took the win in goal while Aaron Robinson was solid in defeat.

The Knights now move on to the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association (OFSAA) playdowns March 25-28 in Peterborough.
