Dustin Jeffrey named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Dustin Jeffrey of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday February 17 after scoring two goals and adding seven assists for nine points in three games.

Jeffrey started the week with three assists in a 7-3 win over the Sudbury Wolves on Tuesday, added a pair of helpers in an 8-1 win over the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors on Friday and finished the week with two goals and two assists and was the first star in a 6-3 win over the Sarnia Sting on Saturday.

Jeffrey, a 19-year-old native of Courtright, ON, has 24 goals and 50 assists for 74 points in 45 games with the Greyhounds this season. He also won Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week honours in October.

Matthew Pistilli of the Gatineau Olympiques named CHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Matthew Pistilli of the Gatineau Olympiques is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday February 17 after scoring five goals and eight assists for 13 points in three games.

Pistilli started the week with two goals and four assists to pace the Olympiques to a =n 8-1 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes on Friday. He added two assists in a 4-1 win over the Victoriaville Tigres on Saturday and finished the week with three goals and two assists in a 9-2 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Sunday.

Pistilli, a 19-year-old native of Montreal, Quebec, improved his season scoring totals to 29 goals and 45 assists for 74 points in 53 games.

Justin Bernhardt of the Prince Albert Raiders was the WHL nominee after scoring four goals and two assists for six points in two games and Dustin Jeffrey of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds was the OHL nominee after scoring two goals and seven assists for nine points in three games.
