Hounds Acquire Peluso

Late this evening the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club announced that they have completed a deal with the Midwest Division’s Erie Otters.

The Hounds have acquired right-winger Anthony Peluso from Erie in exchange for Sean Jones, a 4th round pick in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection and a 3rd round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

Peluso, who is currently in his third season in the Ontario Hockey League, is a piece of the puzzle GM Dave Torrie has been looking for.

“We’re extremely excited that this deal has now been completed. Anthony is the type of player we have been looking to add to our lineup. He is a big, physical winger that brings a great combination of toughness, skill, and versatility to our club” explained Torrie.

The 6’3”, 202-lb winger was selected in the 9th round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by St. Louis and comes to the Hounds with 141 career regular season games played in which he has totaled 15 goals, 9 assists, 24 points and 283 penalty minutes.

Anthony will be joining the Hounds this weekend on the road when the locals visit Plymouth on Friday afternoon and Sarnia on Saturday Night.

“We certainly appreciate the contributions Sean made to our hockey club over the past year and a half, and wish him all the best with the Otters” concluded Torrie.
