Sitting with five losses through five games, the White Pines Wolverines record is a little bit deceiving considering their efforts over the past two weeks in senior high school football.

After dropping a 29-7 decision last week to Superior Heights, the Wolverines dropped a 21-14 decision on Thursday night to Korah.

The Wolverines led 6-1 heading into the half before the Colts scored three touchdowns in the second half to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Korah quarterback Michael Byron ran for a two-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter to put Korah ahead 7-6.

Ryan Yost made the score 14-6 on a three-yard run late in the third quarter while Byron hit Sam Ivey for a 26-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to complete the Korah scoring.

For White Pines, Caleb Childs recovered a Tristan Marshall fumble in the end zone for one of the Wolverines two touchdowns in the game. Marshall ran the ball in for the other White Pines major.

The senior football schedule continues on Friday as St. Mary’s faces Superior Heights in a 7 p.m. start at Rocky DiPietro Field.
