68 saves can't stop the Thunderbirds

The win came on the heels of a 4-2 loss on Friday night against Cochrane.

Matt Pinder, Matthew Caruso and Matthew Busby also scored for the Thunderbirds in Saturday’s victory.

Thunderbirds goaltender Brandon Gordon stopped 20 shots.

Josh Horner stopped 68 shots for the Eskis while Brett Ouderkirk had the lone Iroquois Falls goal.

The Thunderbirds, now 6-1, wrap up the weekend on Sunday afternoon in Timmins against the Rock.

In other NOJHL action on Saturday night Elliot Lake blanked the Soo Eagles 4-0 in the Michigan Sault, Espanola went on the road and beat Blind River 3-2 and the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners beat the Rayside Balfour Canadians 5-2 in Kirkland Lake.
