The 2015 Laird racing season came to an end Sunday with a few points championships still up for grabs.

The closest battle for points going into the evening was in the Factory Stock division between J.P. DelPaggio and Keenan Spurway.

Keenan Spurway was unable to participate in the championship race, but the feature was not without excitement as Chase Wilson's #77 car caught on fire part way through the race.

11-year-old Chase quickly exited the vehicle and the fire was put out with the help of the fire crew on site.

In the end, Josh Maitland saw the checkered flag and J.P. DelPaggio took the championship for points.

"It's been a pretty awesome season and all the fans give you the feeling that you're not doing it alone," said DelPaggio. "I had some bad luck in the heat race tonight and it ended up getting me disqualified, but all I needed to do was run the feature and I wanted to ride at the back and not wreck my car."

"I was a little upset when I heard [Keenan wasn't racing] because it would have been nicer to win the championship when he was on the track. Keenan's an incredible driver and I am honored to have gotten to race against him this year, and I hope we can do some racing in the future," said DelPaggio.

The LIR Modified feature saw a battle between the past generation of racing and the future generation.

It was #61 against #61 as young driver Dustin Jackson tried to catch veteran driver Nick Kozac.

Kozac had to take his car off the track due to contact, and Jackson took the win after a tight race with Mav MacDonald Junior, who was the points champion in the Modified division.

In the Super Late Model feature George Wilson took the win from Rob Hiiemaa, but Hiiemaa still ended the night as the Super Late champion for points.

The Factory Four feature saw John Robinson take the checkered flag, and Jacob Heimonen was named the champion for points.
