This weekend could be a busy one for some members of the Ontario Hockey League’s Soo Greyhounds.

The National Hockey League Entry Draft is set to open on Friday night and up to four members of the Greyhounds could find themselves selected over the course of the seven-round event.

Rookie forward Zach Senyshyn, second-year forward Blake Speers and blueliners Gustav Bouramman and Colton White have all had their names come up as possible selections.

Senyshyn is expected by many to be the first of the four selected.

The rookie forward was ranked 38th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting in the final rankings of draft eligible players.

Independent scouting services have also been high on Senyshyn. International Scouting Services ranked the 26-goal scorer 39th while Hockey Prospect ranked Senyshyn 57th.

Senyshyn finished his first full season with the Greyhounds with 26 goals and 45 points in 66 games before adding four goals and seven points in 14 playoff games.

After a 24-goal, 67-point performance in 57 games with the Greyhounds in the 2014-15 season, Speers’ draft stock has remained in the late third round to early fourth round range.

The Sault Ste. Marie native was ranked 90th by Hockey Prospect while International Scouting Services had the second-year forward ranked 105th.

NHL Central Scouting has Speers ranked 49th among North American skaters. Factor in goaltenders and European players and that could have him going somewhere in the third round.

After a solid rookie season with the Greyhounds that saw him score five goals and 44 points in 67 games, Bouramman was ranked 75th by Central Scouting.

International Scouting Services had the smooth-skating defenceman ranked 126th while Hockey Prospect had Bouramman ranked 162nd.

A steady defenceman, White could also find himself selected on the weekend after a season that saw him score six goals and 22 points in 67 games. Hockey Prospect had White ranked 180th while he was ranked 128th by Central Scouting.

Both International Scouting Services and Hockey Prospects have their lists combined while NHL Central Scouting separates skaters and goaltenders while also separating players into North American and European lists.

The draft opens Friday evening in Sunrise, Fl.

The first round is scheduled for Friday night while rounds two through seven take place on Saturday.
