As the new curling season approaches, a familiar face will not be with Team Jacobs as the season opens.

In a statement posted on their official Facebook page, Team Jacobs announced that coach Tom Coulterman is taking a break from coaching curling.

Coulterman had been involved with Team Jacobs – skip Brad Jacobs, third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden – since 2010 and was a part of the team that represented Northern Ontario in the Tim Hortons Brier five times, winning the event in 2013.

With Coutlerman as coach, Team Jacobs won silver at the 2013 World Championship and gold at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

“It is safe to say that without Tom Coulterman, our team would not be where we are today,” the statement on the Team Jacobs Facebook page read.
