OHL Playoff Notebook: OHL finals set

The Erie Otters opponent for the Ontario Hockey League final has been determined. The Oshawa Generals clinched the Eastern Conference final with a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon over the North Bay Battalion in North Bay.

The Oshawa Generals clinched the Eastern Conference final with a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon over the North Bay Battalion in North Bay.

Matt Mistele’s goal at 9:47 of the second period held up as the winner for the Generals, who also got a goal from Hunter Smith in the game.

Goaltender Ken Appleby, a native of North Bay, stopped 20 shots.

Nick Moutrey had a power play goal for the Battalion while goaltender Jake Smith stopped 22 shots.

The Generals, who finished atop the Eastern Conference standings in the regular season, take the series in six games.
