Award nominees announced

Already well-represented in the Ontario Hockey League coaches poll , the Soo Greyhounds were also prominent as the OHL announced year-end award nominees on Wednesday. In total, six members of the Greyhounds are up for awards.

In total, six members of the Greyhounds are up for awards.

The Greyhounds nominees include:

Anthony DeAngelo – Most Outstanding Player (Red Tilson Trophy) and Most Outstanding Decenceman (Max Kaminsky Trophy)
Jean Dupuy – Overage Player of the Year (Leo Lalonde Memorial Trophy)
Brandon Halverson – Goaltender of the Year
Sheldon Keefe – Coach of the Year (Matt Leyden Trophy)
Zach Senyshyn – Rookie of the Year (Emms Family Award)

Also, four award winners were determined at the end of the regular season.

Dylan Strome of Erie won the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy as the OHL’s leading scorer; Mitchell Marner of London earned the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy as the top scoring right winger; Oshawa’s Ken Appleby and Jeremy Brodeur won the Dave Pinkney Trophy for the lowest team goals against; and Michael McNiven of Owen Sound won the F.W. ‘Dinty’ Moore trophy as the rookie goaltender with the best goals against average).
