NEWS RELEASE

SOO GREYHOUNDS
HOCKEY CLUB

***************************
The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is proud to be joining organizations across the OHL, and province, to show their support for a severely injured Jr. A hockey player.

The Hounds game this coming Saturday, February 21 versus the Kitchener Rangers (7:07 p.m.) will hold events in support of 18-year-old Neil Doef.

Neil, a star with the Smith Falls Bears (CCHL), suffered a spinal injury playing at the World Jr. A Challenge this past December that has resulted in loss of movement to his lower body.

A teammate last season of present Soo Greyhound Zach Senyshyn, Doef had committed to a hockey scholarship at Princeton University for next season.

Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to show their support in three ways:

Greyhounds game night staff will be conducting the evening’s Chuck-A-Puck, with proceeds being donated
“Buckets of Love” will be placed around the Essar Centre concourse accepting monetary donations
The Hound Pound souvenir store will be selling #DoefStrong bracelets

All funds raised at the game will go in support of Neil’s rehabilitation and rebuilding of his family home, which is not currently wheelchair accessible.

Fans who cannot attend the game but would like to show their support, can visit the Greyhounds Business Office (located on the Suite level of the Essar Centre), Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at any Scotiabank to “Doefstrong in trust” or by e-mail transfer to [email protected]

The Soo Greyhounds thank-you in advance for your support!
