Greyhounds blueliner named OHL player of the week

The 19-year-old defenceman posted seven points, all assists, in three games on the road last week, all Greyhounds wins.

DeAngelo set up a pair of goals on Thursday night in a 4-3 Greyhounds win over the Barrie Colts before picking up three more assists the following night in a 7-5 win over the Mississauga Steelheads.

On Sunday afternoon, DeAngelo capped the week off with two assists in the Greyhounds 6-5 shootout win over the Guelph Storm to wrap up the weekend.

The four-year OHL veteran, who is a draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, is currently second in defencemen scoring in the OHL with 51 points in 36 games and has 13 points in seven games since being acquired by the Greyhounds ahead of the OHL trade deadline from the Sarnia Sting.
