From Team USA to Wisconsin for Roque

Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. native Abby Roque will be playing college hockey. The 17-year-old has committed to the University of Wisconsin where she will become a member of the Badgers women’s hockey team.

The 17-year-old has committed to the University of Wisconsin where she will become a member of the Badgers women’s hockey team.

Roque was a member of Team USA at the U18 Women’s World Championships, held earlier this month in Buffalo, NY. Roque had a pair of assists in five games as she helped Team USA to a gold medal.

Roque competed in two U18 tournament, also participating in the 2014 tournament and winning a silver medal in the process.

Roque’s father Jim is a former head coach at Lake Superior State and is currently a scout with the Arizona Coyotes.

The Badgers women’s hockey team went to the Frozen Four last season and currently has an 18-4-2 record this season.
