Thunderbirds win on road

The Soo Thunderbirds won their fourth straight game on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds improved to 27-4-0-4 thanks to a 6-2 Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League win over the Sudbury Nickel Barons in Sudbury.

The Thunderbirds improved to 27-4-0-4 thanks to a 6-2 Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League win over the Sudbury Nickel Barons in Sudbury.

Eric Hillock scored a pair of goals to lead the Thunderbirds offensively while Anthony Miller, Nicolas Tassone and Matthew Mitchell added a goal and an assist each in the win.

Brett Jeffries also scored for the Thunderbirds. Goaltender Brian Kment stopped 18 shots in the win.

Jacob Bonin had a goal and an assist for Sudbury while Kyle Fransen also scored. Goaltender Jessie Morin stopped 30 shots in the loss.
