Nurse named top player in gold medal win

Soo Greyhounds defenceman Darnell Nurse will be returning to Sault Ste. Marie with a gold medal. Nurse and his Team Canada teammates defeated Russia 5-4 on Monday night to win gold at the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championship in Toronto.

Nurse and his Team Canada teammates defeated Russia 5-4 on Monday night to win gold at the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championship in Toronto.

Nurse was named the Canadian player of the game in the win while also being named one of Canada's top players for the tournament.

Sam Reinhart's goal late in the second period held up as the winner while Max Domi, Connor McDavid, Anthony Duclair and Nick Paul also scored.

Greyhounds forward Sergey Tolchinsky had a goal for the Russians in the loss.
