Despite 4-3 records, Team Rutledge on the women’s side and Team Glibota on the men’s side are on the outside looking in following the round robin.

Team Rutledge, skipped by Katie Rutledge, wrapped up the round robin on Monday afternoon with a 7-6 win over Jenna Poirier’s rink from Sioux Lookout. Rutledge scored a pair in the tenth end to pick up the victory and finish the round robin with a 4-3 record.

Team Rutledge includes vice Shae-Lynn Dupuis, second Hayley Horton and lead Emma McLean. The team also includes fifth Julia Horton.

On the men;s side, Chris Glibota finished the round robin with a 4-3 record after dropping a 10-5 decision in nine ends to Brendan Acorn of Sudbury.

Team Glibota includes vice Cody Tetreault, second Kyle Sherlock, lead Josh Vanderburg and fifth Nick Servant.

Both teams finished in fourth with the top three teams on each side moving on to the playoff round on Tuesday.

The playoff round will have a local flavour as Team Acorn has advanced out of the round robin. Skipped by Brendan Acorn, a Sault Ste. Marie native, the team has two other Sault natives in Mitch Harris and Spencer Clark. Team Acorn currently represents the Sudbury Curling Club.

Team Acorn will face Tanner Horgan’s entry from the Idylwylde Curling Club in Sudbury.

In the women’s semi-final, Team Burns, also from the Idylwylde Curling Club, features a pair of Sault natives in Leah Hodgson and Laura Masters.

Semi-final action is set for 9 a.m. on Tuesday with the women’s and men’s finals set for 1:30 p.m.
