The Canadian International Hockey League’s Batchewana Attack won a pair of games over the weekend.

The Attack swept a home-and-home series with the Kalkaska Rhinos, beating the Rhinos 5-1 Friday night at the Rankin Arena before winning 4-3 in overtime on Saturday night.

On Friday night, Nate Harris, Sergei Koroshun, Jacob Palmerio, Drake Pilon and Chris Zajac scored in the win.

Johan Kling had the overtime winner on Saturday night for the Attack.

In North American Hockey League action, the Soo Eagles split a pair of weekend home games against the Johnstown Tomahawks.

On Saturday night, goaltender Ryan Bednard stopped 37 shots as the Tomahawks beat the Eagles 3-2. Joe Drabin had two goals and an assist in the win while Dakoda Menslage also scored in the win.

Mitch Vanderberg and Denver Pierce scored for the Eagles in the loss.

On Sunday afternoon, Keegan Miller’s power play goal at 4:09 of overtime to lift the Eagles to a 2-1 win. Dan Weaver also scored for the Eagles in the win.

Zach Zech scored the lone goal in Sunday’s loss for the Tomahawks.

The Eagles return to action on Nov. 29 when they begin a road trip against the Michigan Warriors.

In Western Collegiate Hockey Association action over the weekend, Lake Superior State split a pair of games with the University of Alaska.

On Friday night, Alaska picked up a 7-5 win over the Lakers. Marcus Basara had two goals and an assist in the win while Colton Parayko added a goal and two assists. Peter Krieger, Zach Frye, Tayler Munson and Nolan Huysmans also scored in the win.

Chris Ciotti scored a pair of goals for Lake State in the loss. James Roll set up three goals for the Lakers while Stephen Perfetto added a goal and an assist. Austin McKay and Nathan Harris also scored in the loss.

On Saturday night, Perfetto scored at 1:44 of overtime to lift the Lakers to a 3-2 win. Bryce Schmitt had a goal and an assist in the win while Ciotti also scored.

Josh Atkinson and Shawn Hochhausen scored for Alaska in the loss.

The Lakers continue their homestand with a pair of games next weekend against Minnesota State.
