Sudbury Wolves Coach Paul Fixter issued an apology late Thursday afternoon following an incident after the Wolves 7-2 loss in Sault Ste. Marie Wednesday night.

Sudbury Wolves Coach Paul Fixter issued an apology late Thursday afternoon following an incident after the Wolves 7-2 loss in Sault Ste. Marie Wednesday night.

While speaking to the local media following Wednesday's loss, Fixter got into a heated exchange with Sault Star sports reporter Peter Ruicci.  Fixter said "f--- you" to Ruicci during questions regarding the Wolves effort in the loss.

“I apologize for my use of profanity after last evening's loss to the Greyhounds. I could have chosen my words more carefully, however, I stand by my players, the organization and the fans of the Sudbury Wolves hockey club,” Fixter said in a statement on the Wolves website. “The coaching staff is a passionate group and we feel the stress of losing. We are working diligently to strive to improve our record and make the fans of the Sudbury Wolves proud.”

The Ontario Hockey League office said the incident was still under review and a decision on a fine or suspension had not been decided upon.
