The Soo Thunderbirds got a measure of revenge on Wednesday night in Sudbury in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action.

After dropping a 3-2 decision to the Sudbury Nickel Barons on home ice on Sept. 20, the Thunderbirds returned the favour on Wednesday night as they picked up a 2-1 victory at McClelland Arena in Sudbury.

Brett Jeffries scored a power play goal at 10:06 of the second period to give the Thunderbirds a 2-1 lead after the two teams traded goals in the opening frame.

Matt Pinder had the other goal for the Thunderbirds in the win while goaltender Brian Kment stopped 30 shots.

Dylan Callaghan had the lone goal for the Nickel Barons in the loss while goaltender Jessie Morin stopped 34 shots.

The Thunderbirds improve to 4-2 with the win and have won two-straight since a pair of home-ice losses to Sudbury and Elliot Lake.

Sudbury has dropped two in a row and fall to 7-3 on the season.

The Thunderbirds return to action on Saturday night when they host the Elliot Lake Wildcats at the John Rhodes Community Centre in a 7:30 p.m. start,
