The Soo Greyhounds continue to prepare for the opening of the 2014-15 Ontario Hockey League season by re assigning a pair of 1998 birth year players.

The team announced on Tuesday that 16-year-old forward Jack Kopacka and 15-year-old defenceman Mac Hollowell have been reassigned.

Hollowell, a 12th round pick of the Greyhounds in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, will join the Niagara Falls Canucks of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Kopacka will join the Compuware major midget program in Detroit after being selected in round eight of the 2014 draft.

The Greyhounds have 27 players remaining on the roster, including four 1998 birth years (goaltender Joseph Raaymakers and forward Tim Gettinger, Boris Katchouk and Anthony Salinitri).

The Greyhounds have nine players who skated with National Hockey League teams as rookie camps conclude.

Overage forwards Jean Dupuy (Winnipeg) and Bryan Moore (New York Rangers) and overage defenceman Alex Gudbranson (Minnesota) were invited to camps, as was forward Charley Graaskamp (Anaheim).

Tyler Ganly (Carolina), Brandon Halverson (New York Rangers), Kyle Jenkins (Carolina), Darnell Nurse (Edmonton) and Sergey Tolchinsky (Carolina) also participated in rookie camps.

Michael Bunting didn’t take part in the Arizona Coyotes rookie came while Jared McCann was out of action at the Vancouver Canucks rookie camp. Both were out due to mononucleosis.
