The Sault Civics Shock U14 Girls Red continues on their winning path by securing their second gold tournament win within the past month. Over the August 8th - 10th weekend, the team went undefeated once more to take the Brantford Soccer Classic Tournament title in their age division. This win falls on the tails of their recent gold success just a month ago in Kingston, Ontario.

The team met their toughest competition early in the tournament facing London, Ontario's Southend United Sharks and fared a 1-0 win. Emily Weir grabbed the lone goal.

Down 1-0 in their second match against the Stratford Strikers the girls rallied back to win 2-1. The two goals were earned by Tiffany Davies and Makenzi Chartrand.

Skilled game play in the third match secured the team a place in the semi-final round when the Sault Civics Shock U14 played against the Hamilton Sparta to net a 4-1 win. Goals went to Karlee Richer, Sabrina Duckstein, Tiffany Davies and Jadyn Pettenuzzo.

In an easy semi-final game, the team ruled with a 5-0 victory win against Sarnia Spirit. Makenzi Chartrand, Jaydn Pettenuzzo and Karlee Richer all earned singles and Taryn Gazankas secured two goals for the win.

In the final game, once again the team paired up against London's Southend United Sharks. Under sweltering heat, the girls battled and were scoreless after regulation time. In the first overtime period to sudden death, Jaydn Pettenzzo sunk the winning goal to ensure a title win.
Goalkeeper Emma Hendrie netted three shutouts in the tournament and Kara Gruyters was awarded MVP for the team.

Coach Alison Bodnar says of the team, "We came into this tournament with a dream to win a second gold. We knew this was going to be tough but the girls worked hard for every win. We now have a new dream to continue with our 'gold' streak and try to repeat our performance at our next tournament in Grand Rapids, Michigan in two weeks."

She continues, "I know the girls have it in them to take the title. They are playing strong and playing to win."

Other team players include: Julia Howe, Jessica Howe, Olivia Orazietti, Jenna Nanne, Sydney Pigeon, Destinee Pine, Nicole Pulente, Laura Rosso, and Emily Scarpino. Coaching staff for the team is comprised of Coach Alison Bodnar, Assistant Coach Daniel Scarpino, and Team Manager Allyson Pulente.
