Greyhounds complete trade

Monday, June 02, 2014   by: Brad Coccimiglio

The Soo Greyhounds announced a trade on Monday afternoon.

The team has traded the rights to forward Ryan Mantha to the Niagara IceDogs.

In return, the Greyhounds receive a conditional second round draft pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, a pick originally owned by the Plymouth Whalers, as well as a fifth round pick in the 2015 draft.

A native of Clarkston, Michigan, Mantha has spent the past two seasons in the United States Hockey League. He split the 2013-14 season with the Sioux City Muskateers and the Indiana Ice. In 53 games, Mantha had three goals and 15 points.

Mantha was selected in the fifth round of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection by the Greyhounds

I'm guessing Mantha wouldn't report here or would lost in the depth chart under Guddy and Nurse? Either way, a good return for the hounds.
